Kevin's exit confirmed

Winger allowed to pursue opportunities elsewhere

Neal Ardley today announced that Kevin Sainte-Luce has had his contract cancelled by mutual consent after a lack of first-team opportunities for the winger this season.

The 21-year-old has made just 11 appearances this season – nine of them as a substitute – and Neal Ardley said that talks between club and player concluded that it would be best for the player to move on.

Speaking during an interview for Dons Player, Neal Ardley said: “We’ve had some dialogue over the last month and Kevin has not been happy with his limited playing time, despite us having conversations about what he needed to do to get back in.

“Ultimately, the club and Kevin decided that the right thing would be for him to move on. He can now try and get his career back on track. There is no doubt that he is an unbelievable talent and I know that the fans like him because he excites them. From my point of view we need to move Kevin on and try to bring players in who will excite the fans just as much. We will be working hard on that.”

The 21-year-old made a bright start after joining AFC Wimbledon in January, 2013, with his performances helping the Dons avoid relegation in dramatic circumstances on the final day of that season. Overall, Kevin made 46 appearances for Wimbledon and scored three goals.

All at AFC Wimbledon wish Kevin every success in his future career.
