Neal: get behind the Dons

15 January 2015

Manager's appeal ahead of Carlisle

Neal Ardley says that the Dons faithful can make a big difference in his side’s efforts to push up the League 2 table.

The Dons have two successive home games coming up, starting with Carlisle on Saturday, a match that could mark David Connolly’s first appearance in a Wimbledon shirt for almost 12 years.

Neal said: “The team is in good shape and we’ve made one addition today. We’re working hard on bringing in another one or two signings. We’re excited and are looking forward to the game on Saturday. The fans were brilliant at Stevenage and against Liverpool, Exeter and Portsmouth. We know that we’re on a decent run, but we have two home games coming up that people will be expecting us to win.

“If things are not going the way we want them to, then we really need the fans to rally behind us. In the past, we’ve struggled against teams that are down there and that bit of apprehension can get into the fans and then the players. Before you know it, the performance can go wrong. That’s not an excuse, but it will help us massively if fans keep cheering and getting behind us no matter what’s happening.”

Seat and terrace tickets are still remaining for the game against Carlisle.
