27 January 2015

Nominate via social media or by e-mail

A wonderful team move finished off by George Francomb was voted as AFC Wimbledon’s goal of 2013 – and now we want your nominations for the club’s 2014 entry.

We want your help to nominate AFC Wimbledon for the Mitre Goal of the Year 2014 competition.

Our entry can be from any Football League competition during the calendar year, including the Sky Bet Football League, the Capital One Cup and the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.

We want you to nominate your favourite goal via our official Twitter or Facebook accounts or e-mail and we will whittle down the nominations to five based on this vote, before asking Neal Ardley to choose our winning entry.

AFC Wimbledon’s number one goal for 2014 will be entered in the Mitre Goal of the Year category at the Football League Awards 2015 – the 10th anniversary of the event. A judging panel will then review the goals with the top 10 being shown on Sky Sports’ Soccer AM in March.

Fans will be given the opportunity to vote for goals to make the final shortlist of five, with the overall winner being decided at the glittering awards ceremony at The Brewery, London on Sunday, 19 April 2015.

You can nominate your favourite AFC Wimbledon goal in three ways. To make your choice via the official AFC Wimbledon Twitter account please use #wimbledongoal or enter via a dedicated thread on the club Facebook page.
