Defender to return for U-21s on Monday
Jake Goodman will take a vital step on the road to recovery by playing for Wimbledon’s development side at Peterborough tomorrow.
The towering centre-back’s last match action was against Carlisle on 17 January with a broken toe having kept him out, but he is now edging closer to a return.
His availability will come as a welcome boost for Neal Ardley’s defensive options with the on-loan Millwall defender having made a fine impression before his injury.
“Jake will play for the Under-21s on Monday,” Neal told WDON’s Rob Cornell. “Jake has had 10 days to two weeks of training and he needed that as he is a big heavy-boned lad. We have worked hard with him. If he can come through 90 minutes for the Under-21s then that will put him a bit closer and we will see where he fits in.”
Alan Reeves’ development squad will be aiming to make it five matches unbeaten tomorrow at Peterborough (1.00 pm kick-off).
An interview with George Francomb will be on Dons Player later. The full video update from Neal Ardley features on Dons Player along with the manager’s thoughts on David Connolly’s decision to retire.
