Jack Smith’s “laid-back” nature paid off on Saturday according to Neal Ardley when the defender popped up with a late winner against York.
Smith is pictured above receiving congratulations from team-mates after his timely strike and our gallery of images also shows Deji Oshilaja saluting his first ever Football League goal in style.
Speaking to Dons Player after the dramatic win, Neal Ardley said: “Jack popped up to produce a great moment. If that ball was going to fall to anybody then you would want it to be Jack because he is the most laid-back player in the team!
“From York’s point of view these things happen and we know that from our own experiences a couple of seasons ago. I don’t think we deserved to win, but there have been plenty of games we have deserved to win, but haven’t so I’ll take it.”
