A golden contribution

11 May 2015

Sales of tickets have raised thousands

The sales of Golden Goal tickets made another vital contribution to the club this season with £11,851 donated to the Dons Trust Stadium Fund.

Golden Goal tickets have provided a valuable source of fundraising since the rebirth of AFC Wimbledon with a total of £170,347 having been accumulated from the first sale in August, 2002.

Golden Goal organisers Roger and Linda Dennis wish to thank all supporters who bought tickets this season and, in particular, the dedicated volunteer team who have cheerfully sold tickets in all weathers on match days.

Wimbledon’s last home game of 2014/15 against Cheltenham Town resulted in a rare double win for a supporter.

This meant that Simon was only the third person to win both golden goal prizes in the same match. There was even better to follow for Simon when player number three on the team sheet for Wimbledon equalised in the 43rd minute to win him another £25.  .won £100 for Simon Hackney (aka The Ginger Giant) minute - The first goal - scored by player number 11 for Cheltenham in the 25th
