Friendly fixture is confirmed
We are pleased to announce details of a pre-season friendly at the Cherry Red Records Stadium against League 1 side Millwall.
This will take place at 3.00 pm on Saturday, 18 July, just days before AFC Wimbledon’s pre-season tour to La Manga.
It promises to be an intriguing match against Neal Ardley’s former club. Wimbledon supporters will be able to watch new signings in blue and yellow against a Millwall side aiming for an immediate return to the Championship under new manager Neil Harris.
The last time the two clubs met was in August, 2013, when Wimbledon bowed out of the Capital One Cup with a 2-1 defeat at Millwall (the picture above shows Callum Kennedy on the ball in that match).
An Under-21 fixture has also been confirmed for 3.00 pm on Saturday, 18 July. Alan Reeves’ side will travel to Longmead to face Ryman Premier outfit Tonbridge Angels on the same day as the Millwall game.
