Watch the young Dons take on Brentford

Supporters can watch potential first-teamers of the future and find out more about AFC Wimbledon’s academy set-up at a FREE football festival tomorrow (Sunday).

The Cherry Red Records Stadium will be hosting a “showcase for the academy” with AFC Wimbledon sides from the age of Under-9 to Under-16 taking on teams from Brentford.

Ryan Sweeney, Will Nightingale, Ben Harrison, Tom Beere and George Oakley have all featured in similar end of season football festivals in the past with the event offering a good platform for future progress.

As part of Sunday’s festival, Academy Manager Jeremy Sauer and Academy Head of Coaching Mark Robinson will be on hand to answer questions from supporters.

Mark Robinson said: “Following such a positive season with our home-grown players progressing into the first-team, we have high hopes that boys playing on Sunday will be able to follow in their footsteps.

“It is a great event because our players get to test themselves against teams from a higher category academy. Brentford are investing a lot of money into their academy and are being very proactive in terms of recruitment. We will be happy to answer questions about anything to do with the academy if supporters want to find out more about the work we do.”

Mark and Jeremy have set aside an hour between 1.00 pm and 2.00 pm during a busy day of football to answer any of your questions and you can meet them at the Director’s Box between those times.

The bar and a food kiosk will be open at the Cherry Red Records Stadium for the event and entry is free for all spectators.
