Based in High Path, the Wimbledon Foodbank provides three-day emergency food parcels of nutritionally balanced non-perishables to people referred by more than 100 charities, churches and schools from within Merton.
The project relies on local organisations providing support and the club recently received a “Thank-You” card for its contribution. The card had the following message enclosed: “We have fed over 5,000 people in the last two years and had 57 tonnes of food donated! Thank you for your hard work and ongoing support!”
The photograph above shows Dons players and first-team coach Simon Bassey delivering items collected at AFC Wimbledon in 2013.
We wish to pass on thanks from the Wimbledon Foodbank to all those supporters who generously donated items.
