Dons striker takes charity challenge in his stride
Bayo Akinfenwa lived up to his billing as the strongest footballer in the world by lifting Pudsey Bear five times this afternoon.
In an event that raised funds for Children In Need, taking on the challenge of 10-stone Pudsey proved to be no problem for the man known as “The Beast”.

Having been recognised by video game series FIFA as the strongest footballer, the sponsored bench-press or “Pudsey Press” was a challenge that Bayo relished.
Bayo joked: “I think it was five, but it could have been more, and I told Pudsey beforehand that it would not be a problem! The first time I did something like this was when I lifted Ivor and I am getting used to this type of thing now. Maybe it could be Haydon the Womble next time, but he will be bigger I think!
“It’s cool to give something back and this is for a great cause. AFC Wimbledon is a unique club and when we do something like this in the community it reinforces what we are about.”
