Tickets are still available for a live gig starring a man regarded as one of the pioneers of Rock and Roll music in the UK.

Charlie Gracie, who topped the American and British music charts in the 1950s, was a key influence for The Beatles and he’s still going strong now in his late 70s.

Reflecting upon his influence, Sir Paul McCartney once said: “When we were starting out with The Beatles, the music coming over from America was magical to us and one of the artists who epitomised this magic was Charlie Gracie.”

South Philadelphia-raised Charlie Gracie is one of a diminishing number of Rock and Roll innovators, who continues to actively perform.

At the height of his fame, Charlie frequently appeared on 'Dick Clark's American Bandstand', 'The Ed Sullivan Show', and 'Alan Freed's TV Specials'. He headlined shows at the Brooklyn Paramount, the Casino Royale in Washington, The 500 Club in Atlantic City, and Old Connie Mack Stadium in Philadelphia.

Charlie's star burned even brighter in Great Britain and he became the second American artist to bring Rock and Roll to the English concert stage. Preceded only by Bill Haley, Charlie headlined the London Palladium and Hippodrome, receiving outstanding receptions from the press and public.

Doors open at 8.00 pm on Saturday for KM Live with a Rock and Roll DJ providing entertainment until 1.00 am.Tickets are priced at £15.
