Countdown to the Minithon

2 October 2015

Support a club event with a difference

The countdown is on for the AFC Wimbledon Minithon with just 16 days to go – and you can enter at the Dons Trust kiosk tomorrow.

A fun event at Morden Park on Sunday, 18 October, offers an opportunity to run, walk or jog, for the club with funds raised donated to the AFC Wimbledon Foundation and the Academy.

Neal Ardley and his backroom team, Haydon the Womble, and Erik Samuelson are all shaping up to be on the starting line. In our last staging of the Minithon in 2012, AFC Wimbledon Sports Scientist Jason Moriarty (pictured crossing the line above), unsurprisingly, came home first.

Even if you don’t wish to join Jason and the rest, we would still be very grateful if you could support the event.

Erik is currently leading the way in terms of sponsorship donations, but our Haydon needs a bit more persuasion to swap home turf at Wimbledon Common for Morden Park!

There will also be other activities going on during the morning of the Minithon event, which starts at 12 noon. From 10.30 am (near the bandstand in Morden Park), children can make the most of face-painting and glitter tattoos. Our popular beat-the-goalie and football inflatable stalls will also be at the event, along with refreshments and a cake stall.
