Gala fundraiser promises to be better than ever

Our sponsors Paul Strank Roofing raised £64,677.64 for charity at their annual gala last year - and this Saturday's event will once again raise valuable funds for good causes.

It's an event that promises to be bigger and better than ever with Beverly Knight MBE headlining a great line-up and Christopher Biggins hosting the annual black tie fundraiser in association with AFC Wimbledon.

The event at the Bank of England Sports Centre in Priory Lane, Roehampton (staged from 7.00 pm until 12 midnight on Saturday) is a big charity event in support of Shooting Star CHASE and OneLife UK.

Guests will enjoy a champagne reception, a delicious four-course meal accompanied by speeches from both the wonderful charities as well as Leader of Merton Council Cllr Stephen Alambritis.

Beverly Knight, the star of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s record-breaking musical Cats, offers a supremely talented headline act and upcoming artist Hannah May will also be on stage. The incredible Johnny Robinson will be back by popular demand. Mesmerising ventriloquist Paul Zerdin, and the hilarious Edinburgh Fringe Festival star Patrick Monahan will provide other highlights on the night.

Great prizes will also be on offer on the night in a raffle, including two tickets to watch Beverly Knight perform in the musical Cats at Memphis. Sporting prizes include a signed Muhammed Ali poster, two Wimbledon tennis centre court tickets for 2016, and a rare black and white 1966 World Cup winning England signed photo by all the players.

Other great prizes include a tour of the Houses of Parliament with drinks on the terrace in the evening with an MP for up to six people.
