Event held to remember Ollie

Our younger AFC Wimbledon fans have an opportunity to meet Haydon the Womble this Sunday as part of a charity fun day in memory of Ollie Lovis.

The Teddy Bears Picnic event will be staged in honour of Ollie, who was a match day mascot at an AFC Wimbledon game last year.

Ollie lost his battle with cancer at the age of four during the summer and funds raised from Sunday’s event at King George V Playing Fields (12 noon until 3.00 pm) in Ewell, will be donated to Momentum, a charity based in South West London and Surrey.

This amazing charity supports children with cancer and life-limiting conditions. Haydon the Womble was at the forefront of fundraising drives for Ollie and the charity after he was a mascot at AFC Wimbledon versus Torquay United.

Sunday is a free event and Haydon is inviting children to join him and his mascot pals including Pete and Alice the Eagles and Fireman Sam. There will be live entertainment, including local singers and dancers, face painting, a bouncy castle and the AFC Wimbledon penalty shoot-out inflatable.

Great prizes will also be on offer, thanks to a mega raffle, a silent auction and a tombola. There will also be prizes for best named teddy and best dressed teddy so children are encouraged to bring their teddies along!

Tickets are £1 each and a list of prizes are on the link.   for more information. MomentumThe raffle has over 40 prizes on offer. Raffle tickets can be purchased on the day or by donating via a link. Click on
