Back new stadium bid

2 August 2016

Update: send your support e-mail to the Mayor

The club has been given updated advice with regards to writing to the GLA in support of the proposal to reverse the previous Mayor’s decision to ‘call in’ the application.

We would therefore now like to urge ALL supporters and well-wishers to write in to support this proposal, not just those in Merton and Wandsworth.

All submissions with a name and postal address supplied will be included in the consultation process. We would like to encourage all fans to ensure the GLA receive as many supportive submissions as possible.

Chief Executive Erik Samuelson said: "Our updated advice is for everyone who supports the stadium proposal to write to the GLA in support of the Mayor's request for additional information about the decision to call it in.

"I know we have sent a lot of letters and e-mails and there is a certain amount of campaign fatigue, but this really could be the last step. Please persuade friends, family, colleagues and well-wishers to write in - not just Wimbledon fans.

“We managed to get several thousand letters of support in the earlier stages of our stadium bid, but we know we took more than 20,000 thousand fans to Wembley. Please take the time to ensure that everyone you know writes in as we seek a return to our spiritual home.”

planningadmin@london.gov.uk  or by e-mailing directly to  websiteSubmissions can be made directly using the form on the Bring The Dons Home    making  the following points:

1. You consider the previous Mayor’s decision to call in the application was not justified and contrary to the advice of his officials

2. You support the proposal to return the application to Merton.

The deadline for submissions is 10 August.

Please remember to include your name and address in the e-mail.
