Eleventh choice in advent calendar was an easy one
A memorable day at Wheatsheaf Park from 2008 is still revered by supporters and it was a particularly easy selection in our AFC Wimbledon advent calendar.
Having come up just short in the Ryman League Premier Division play-offs in two previous seasons, AFC Wimbledon really needed to make it third time lucky and Terry Brown’s men just about got there.
In a tense match, late goals from Luis Cumbers and Mark De Bolla earned a 2-1 win against Staines Town and signalled ecstatic scenes among Dons supporters as captain Jason Goodliffe lifted silverware.
