Goalkeeper joins Dons on loan

Neal Ardley has today sealed a transfer deadline day move with the arrival of highly-rated Dutch goalkeeper Kelle Roos.

The 6 ft 4 inch goalkeeper (pictured) joins AFC Wimbledon on loan from Derby County for the rest of this season.

At the age of 23, Kelle is renowned as a goalkeeper with plenty of pedigree after gaining experience as a rising goalkeeper in Holland, before making a name for himself over here.

Following spells in his homeland with PSV Eindhoven, Willem II and NEC Nijmegen, Dutch youth international Kelle was coveted by several Championship clubs during an impressive spell with Nuneaton Town. Kelle even had a training stint with Premier League Liverpool, but it was Derby who won the race for his signature in January 2014.

Serving as understudy to first-choice Lee Grant, Kelle made five appearances in total for the Championship club during 2014/15 – three times in the FA Cup and twice in the League Cup – and kept three clean sheets for the Rams.

Earlier this season, Kelle gained more experience with a loan spell at Rotherham United.

More from Neal Ardley on this signing will follow on the official website shortly.
