Assistant manager interviewed for Dons Player

Neil Cox today reflected upon almost four years at AFC Wimbledon with great pride, but with plenty of determination about taking the club forward once again.

The current management team, led by Neal Ardley, enter their fourth full season with a new challenge ahead in English Football League One and the assistant manager shares a collective responsibility to bring about further progress.

Speaking during an interview for Dons Player, Neil said: “Four years is a long time in football, everyone knows that. It’s been a great four years. In the first year we had a job to do because we had to stay in the league. It was probably one of our biggest achievements to do that, even though we’ve been promoted. Staying in the league with the squad we had was remarkable.

“It has been a fantastic four years and this is another big year for us. We are looking forward to the challenge as staff. It’s not just the manager as all the staff will have to step-up to the mark as well as the players. We want to do a little bit more and progress. We all want to work at a higher level and we are in a good situation to try and get even higher.”
