Record Season Ticket sales

4 July 2016

A total of 2,900 sold with five weeks until new season starts

There has been a surge in Season Ticket sales for AFC Wimbledon’s 2016/17 campaign in English League One with 2,900 having been sold already.

With less than five weeks until the new season gets underway, there has been record sales, a total of 250 up on last year.

Due to this high demand, we’ve made additional seats available in the John Green Stand for Season Ticket applicants.

However, even then we are likely to be over-subscribed. As a result, we are not taking any more applications for ST seats with immediate effect.

Mike Berry, who carries out a vital role at the club by auditing season ticket payments from supporters, said: “Once again, the process has been daunting, but registering all the ST applications will be completed this week.

“I would ask fans to be patient over the next couple of weeks and not to contact the club for updates. From next week, fans who have applied for seats or a move will be contacted. Some will be disappointed as the demand is greater than the available seats, but it shows that our move back to Wimbledon is essential to satisfy the demands to watch our team.

“Though the increase in numbers is a challenge, it is also exciting as the prospect of more fans regularly attending games as a result of our promotion is very pleasing.”

As outlined by Mike, data input is continuing and the process of allocating seats will start in the next two weeks. The Paul Strank stand has a very high renewal rate – last year it was 98 per cent - so the chances of a seat in is minimal.

Unsuccessful applicants for the Paul Strank Stand will be offered a place in the John Green stand and if that isn’t possible a terrace place.
