Support our community values in the heart of Wimbledon
The Wombles will be back on home turf this Saturday with a club presence aiming to promote our great community work at the Wimbledon Village Fair.
Our friendly AFC Wimbledon Foundation staff will be running competitions, including “Beat the Keeper” and a FIFA/Xbox challenge, at the popular summer event, which attracts thousands of people to Wimbledon Common every summer.
There will also be an opportunity to find out from the Foundation team about summer holiday courses coming up in July, offering a great way for children to stay active during time off from school.
Of course, Wimbledon Common was a venue critical to the start of AFC Wimbledon 14 years ago as club trials were held there shortly after our reformation.
Kay Skelton, Executive Director at the Foundation, said: “We’ve had quite a lot of interest from people in what we do, even more so now that the club has League 1 status. We provide a lot of opportunities for people of all ages, including young people, to keep them off the streets. Our Foundation team will be on hand this Saturday to provide more information and parents can find out about holiday courses coming up.
“This is a good event for us as a club to spread the word about what we do in the community. We will talk to people about what we are trying to achieve for next season. It would be great if Wimbledon fans could support us by popping along to the stall and wearing club colours.”

Last season, the AFC Wimbledon Foundation provided 5,194 hours of activities and engaged with 25,529 people, ranging from 4-75 years. This was achieved through schools sports, PE lessons, Saturday morning clubs, holiday courses, disability programmes and Walking Football.
The merchandising team will also be at our club stall on Saturday with Wimbledon kit and memorabilia on sale at the event.
