Help our talent search

Make a difference in building the club's future

Can you help AFC Wimbledon find the next generation of players to follow in the footsteps of Will Nightingale, Ryan Sweeney or Tom Beere?

Nightingale (pictured right above), Sweeney and Beere have all progressed through the ranks to the first-team squad in recent years and the academy aims to build on this.

Following on from a successful season for the Academy, which included a run to The FA Youth Cup fifth round and a meeting with eventual winners Chelsea, we are now keen to expand our Talent ID department even further and help find the best local talent.

We are looking for volunteer Talent ID Scouts, who will have responsibility for unearthing hidden gems in local leagues who may be capable of following in the footsteps of “Home-grown & hungry players” earning first-team involvement.

Head of Talent ID Ben Fosuhene said: “AFC Wimbledon has a unique story that the football world identifies with and a big part of this is having a recognised pathway for talented young players to develop towards first-team football. The Academy has already shown the talent it has coming through and my job is to help take this to the next level. We are looking for committed & reliable volunteers with an eye for spotting talent to join our team and help us get out there.”

We will be holding an open evening for all applicants to attend on Thursday 14th July 2016 to learn more about the role and for us to get to know you better.

Applicants are required to have some previous experience working with children, preferably football coaching (FA Level 1 Certificate), and should be available to attend specified local league matches on Saturday and/or Sunday mornings. Successful applicants will need to have a valid DBS check , which can be obtained through the club, and will be issued with club kit.

If you are interested, then please e-mail us for more information and to register your interest by e-mailing Ben on talentid@afcwimbledon.ltd.uk .
