Neal targets five more

Full update from the manager on Dons Player

Neal Ardley said he is willing to be patient this summer in the pursuit of targets that will strengthen his squad for next season’s League 1 challenge.

Following the capture of goalkeeper Ryan Clarke, Neal told Dons Player that he’s seeking five more additions, but it may take time to land his key targets.

“It is going how we hoped it would,” said Neal. “I could have told you before or after Wembley that we would not be making any signings in the early part of June. A lot of our business will happen in July and I think a lot of it will even happen in the back end of July. We need to find quality that before we felt we might not be able to get. Sometimes these players are not available at this precise moment, but there is a chance they will be available in July.

“We have to play a little bit more of a patient game, but there may be one or two that we can get done earlier. We are very hopeful that we can bring in possibly five more players to strengthen the squad. If we do that and bring in the quality that we want, then we can have a good crack at it next season. “

A full five-minute update from Neal Ardley is now on Dons Player, along with an extensive interview with new signing Ryan Clarke.
