A Wembley double bill

27 May 2016

Cleves School will also be representing the club

Young footballers from Cleves School will be aiming to show Neal Ardley’s men the way by earning success for AFC Wimbledon before Monday’s Play-Off Final.

The Weybridge school will be representing our AFC Wimbledon Foundation in the final of the Kinder+Sport Football League Kids Cup at Wembley (kick-off 1.40 pm).

Wimbledon supporters can get behind their bid for glory against Samuel Barlow School, who are representing Mansfield FC in the Football League Trust competition.

Ahead of Monday at Wembley, we’ve put together a short video featuring a good luck message from our first-team squad and Cleves School pupils singing AFC Wimbledon!

After winning the AFC Wimbledon Kids Cup in November at Southfields Academy, Cleves School won the Southern Regional competition, staged at Portsmouth.

Joe Roberts, AFC Wimbledon Foundation’s Sports Development Manager, said: “We are proud that Cleves School have earned the opportunity to represent the club at Wembley and it’s even better that the first-team will be bidding for promotion on the same day. The performances from Cleves School’s footballers and their behaviour off the pitch has been a real credit to them and the football club. Let’s hope for a double on the day!”
