Reaction: Dons in play-offs

Interviews and highlights from a proud day for Wimbledon

It turned out to be a party at Stevenage yesterday with players, coaching staff and supporters celebrating a play-off place and there’s plenty of post-match reaction on Dons Player.

channel. You TubeNeal Ardley spoke of his delight at the progress made since the Dons were fighting relegation three years ago and a clip of this video can be watched on our official

Speaking to WDON’s Rob Cornell, Darius Charles hailed the defensive solidity that helped to secure a play-off place with four clean sheets in the last five games.

“I’ve played in a lot of sides and this is a very strong back five,” said Charles. “Unfortunately Jon Meades got injured, but Callum came in and he has been phenomenal. With ‘Robbo’, Barry and Kelle, we have a great unit. I have enjoyed every minute of my time here, it has been fantastic.

“Things have come full circle for me in the sense that I won promotion through the play-offs with Stevenage and now I am in a position to do it again with AFC Wimbledon. It’s about hard work, focus, attention to detail, and turning up on the day. You just have to go full throttle for it. We can take a little bit of a breather now before focusing on the game against Newport.”

Paul Robinson also talks to Dons Player and watch out for celebrations from Jake Reeves interrupting his interview!
