Launch of Foundation sessions at the club on Thursday
The AFC Wimbledon Foundation are this Thursday launching a new initiative for adults that combines football with art classes.
You don’t have to be good at football or with a pencil or brush as the aim is to create a weekly “social club” here in the middle bar with like-minded people.
The project is in partnership with Everyone for Art, a charity which uses art to engage adults in the community who may wish to take part in a weekly session that aims to be fun for all those involved.
Following the success of recent projects in the community and the AFC Wimbledon Foundation Day, Executive Director Kay Skelton said: “We came up with the idea to combine art and football as a way of creating a weekly social club for those adults who are not working, recovering from illness, or just need some time out of the house, in a fun environment where they can also get fitter, with like-minded people.
“This is very much a different approach for the Foundation but something we feel could really help social interaction, you don’t have to be good at art or football as it’s about having fun, meeting people and getting a bit fitter!
