Dons bolster attack

11 November 2016

Ladies manager Chris Lyons makes double swoop

AFC Wimbledon Ladies manager Chris Lyons has bolstered his forward line with a double signing.

The Dons Ladies have strengthened again with the signings of strikers Katie Stanley (pictured right) and Laura Curtis (left).

“Katie brings with her experience from WSL side Watford and will add more pace to the Dons front line. She’s an exciting forward and has already shown in her first training session she’ll be a valuable asset to us,” said Chris

“Laura joined us from Carshalton, and having played against us during our time in the LSER, we know her well. She’s still settling in but once she’s found her feet I’m sure she’ll show her quality,” he added.

“We’ve had a few injuries in the squad lately, so adding Katie and Laura will help us continue pushing hard this season. They’ll both add more quality to the squad and make places up front even more competitive. I’m very happy they’ve both agreed to join AFC Wimbledon, and I’m confident they’ll do a fantastic job for us.”

The Ladies, currently second in the FA Women’s Premier League - South East Division 1, return to action with a home fixture against Luton Town LFC on 20 November (kick-off 2pm at Sutton United FC).
