FA Youth Cup on Wednesday night

Under-18s manager Mark Robinson has called on Wimbledon supporters to enjoy “a massive dose of football” and cheer on the club’s young talents tomorrow night.

It’s just £5 admission for adults (free for Under-18s) at the Cherry Red Records Stadium (7.30 pm kick-off) as the young Dons go in pursuit of a place in the third round of the FA Youth Cup.

The bars will also be open from 5.30 pm tomorrow night.

With Bristol Rovers likely to provide tough opposition as they beat Oxford United in the last round, Mark Robinson says that backing from supporters would make a big difference.

“A crowd is really important to us,” said Mark. “I suppose it will be difficult this week because the first-team are away at Millwall and I think a lot of our fans will travel there, but it would be fantastic if they were up for a massive dose of football this week! If so, they should come down to the FA Youth Cup as well. I want to see if the boys can perform in front of 600 or 700 people and that’s very important.”

Of course, last season the young Dons reached the last-16 with the competition offering a launch players including Alfie Egan to progress into the first-team squad this season.
