Egli Kaja has been rewarded for his progress with a call-up for the Albania U-21s squad to take on Northern Ireland and Iceland next month.
Egli will join up with the squad from 28 August until 5 September for the European Under-21 Championship qualifying double-header, after impressing at a training camp in Albania in May.
The 20-year-old Wimbledon academy product, who moved to England with his family at the age of three, is very proud to be recognised by his country and he attended the Euro 2016 Finals to cheer on Albania last year.
Egli, who made a substitute appearance for the first-team against Shrewsbury on Saturday, could make his international debut in Northern Ireland on 31 August, before being a part of the squad for a match in Iceland on 4 September.
Egli was born in Prelez, Kosovo, but people from that country are eligible to play for Albania and his parents and grandparents were born in Albania.
All at AFC Wimbledon congratulate Egli on his call-up and we wish him every success in playing for his country.
