New signing Harry: "It's a win-win situation"

Attacking midfielder gives an exclusive interview to iFollow Dons

Attacking midfielder Harry Forrester feels a season-long loan to AFC Wimbledon from Glasgow Rangers has come at the right time in his career.

"I spoke to the manager and Neil Cox and they've got clear plans for the club," said Forrester in his first interview to our iFollow Dons channel. "My agent spoke highly of Neal Ardley before I signed and after meeting him it's clear what he wants to achieve."

A shorter version of Harry Forrester's interview is available via a link to our official club YouTube channel below.

"I think it's a win-win situation. I got a call expressing AFC Wimbledon's interest and I was desperate to go out and play. I think it's a good step for me and the club is going in the right direction and the manager here wants to achieve things this year.

The 26 year-old began his career with Northampton Town at a very young age, but moved to Watford as a teenager when our current managerial duo were in the first-team. He continued to be linked with some of the big clubs in England and a move to Aston Villa eventually followed.

More recently though he has clocked up considerable experience at League One level with Brentford and this Saturday's opponents Doncaster Rovers. The opportunity then followed to join one of the "Old Firm" at the end of 2015 in their rise back to the Scottish Premiership.

"The AFC Wimbledon story is a unique one," added Harry. "In some way it's similar to the Rangers one – having to start from the bottom and work their way up. It builds character for the squad itself and the club and hopefully the future is bright.

"I like that it's a family club here and I've played at Brentford before – which is like that – so it's something I'm familiar with and I'm looking forward to.

"I've seen the stadium and it's a tight stadium and an 'old school' stadium which I really like. You're close to the fans and I'm sure it'll be really loud and I'm looking forward to pulling on the shirt."
