We are pleased to announce that a season-long loan deal from Scottish Premiership Glasgow Rangers to AFC Wimbledon for Harry Forrester has been completed this afternoon.
Harry takes the vacant number 11 shirt and becomes signing number eight this summer.
"Harry brings a quality going forward that we need a little bit more of," said assistant manager Neil Cox in an interview with our iFollow Dons channel. "He'll be a good character around the place, enthusiastic and I think he'll be a really good player the fans will like to see.
"He's a good player when it comes to 'one v one', he can pick a pass, he works hard and he says he'll work hard for the team and we've seen that. His goal scoring record is good, he's played at a higher level and he just wants to get started. He's missed a bit of pre-season and we need to get him up to speed quickly."
"I'm glad it's finally over the line as it's taken a bit longer than we both planned, but I'm very happy to be here and get started," said Harry in an exclusive interview to our premium channel. "I'm keen to get back out on the pitch as I haven't played for a few months.
"The main thing for me is to get playing and scoring goals and for me picking the right club was vital. The manager and his assistant have made me feel very welcome and I believe I'm at a good club."
The 26 year-old attacking midfielder started with Northampton Town at a very young age and he moved on to Watford and then Aston Villa, before establishing himself with first Brentford and then Doncaster Rovers – who the Dons face at home this Saturday.
Harry, who has represented England at under-16 and under-17 level, then had the opportunity to play for Rangers as they made their way back to the Scottish top-flight.
Neil Cox also confirmed that the signing of Harry Forrester concludes AFC Wimbledon's business in terms of new signings for the summer transfer window.
