A fun-filled wine tasting evening for AFCW Business Club members

Great turn-out for event at The Garratt & Gauge pub

1 December 2017

The AFC Wimbledon Business Club continues to gather momentum after a successful launch and one of the recent highlights was an entertaining wine tasting evening at The Garratt & Gauge pub.

A total of 40 members gathered at the Wimbledon pub for a fantastic evening of wine, food, networking and a lot of fun!

The occasion was a great opportunity to meet new members, with representatives from Hother Associates, CKS Media, Geeks, Ely’s, and Jemca, attending the exclusive event.

The launch of the exciting Wimbledon TV – a brand-new TV channel, which will soon be coming to Wimbledon – also took place, offering great coverage and reporting, with a laugh or two along the way.

The wines were provided by Majestic Wimbledon, who carried out a ‘Call My Bluff’ competition format for the wine tasting. This created an opportunity for members to show off their wine knowledge!

Food was served for a half-time break, courtesy of The Garratt and Gauge, as members had to take a break from wine tasting!

For those who have not been to The Garratt and Gauge yet, we recommend it to all AFC Wimbledon supporters. With imagery on the pub walls including “It only took 9 beers”, Dons fans will certainly feel at home!

Suzy Wood, Centre Director of Centre Court Shopping Centre, said: “The event was excellent. I am really excited about the AFC Wimbledon Business Club. It gives us an opportunity to meet more people out in the community, which is always appreciated. I think it’s a really great thing that the club has done to get us all together at some really fantastic events.”

To close out the wine tasting, the results were given on ‘Call My Bluff’, and the victorious team celebrated as they were each given their bottle of champagne as a prize for showing off their knowledge on wine.

Once the wine tasting had finished, only the bravest of members extended their stay at the Garratt & Gauge for further networking!
