Under-18s manager Mark Robinson praised an impressive team performance after the young Dons brushed aside Luton Town on their own patch.
Following a shaky start when Tom Miles had to pull off a good save, Wimbledon struck the opener through Bobby Mills, who finished off expertly after a pin-point cross from Ethan Nelson-Roberts (pictured above). It was the first in a 4-1 victory for the Dons. Flowing football followed after the opener with Great Nii-Okai Evans, Tyler Burey and Mills all having chances.
The first-half ended on a low note for Wimbledon when Michael Shahalo equalised, but the second-half started with the Dons regaining supremacy. Tino Carpene produced a cool finish to put Wimbledon 2-1 up after a high press had forced the Luton keeper into a mistake. A third goal followed when Ossama Ashley delivered a lovely corner for the excellent Osaze Urhoghide to head home emphatically.
A fine team performance was rounded off on 82 minutes when the excellent Reece Weekes found Man of the match Nelson-Roberts, who fired home brilliantly from 25 yards.
Mark Robinson said: "Luton are a very good side and have been in fine form winning their last three games comfortably. We did a lot of things right though and our mentality was closer to where it has to be. This gave us the framework to play some very good football and to score some very good goals."
