Kwesi steps up return towards full fitness for the Dons

7 December 2017

Striker Kwesi Appiah has stepped up his recuperation by taking part in extra fitness sessions with Sports Scientist Jason Moriarty – and he could be back in full training next week.

“Kwesi has joined in training with Jason today,” confirmed assistant manager Neil Cox in an update for iFollow Dons from the training ground.

“Hopefully we get him through today and see how he is tomorrow and then maybe he’ll train at the beginning of next week or in the middle of the week.”

The Ghanaian international has been ruled out of action for two and a half months with a hamstring injury, which he sustained in the game at home to Milton Keynes towards the end of September.

Kwesi is pictured with students from Cheam Common High School, who were rewarded with a visit to the training ground today for finishing as runners-up in the AFC Wimbledon Foundation’s Girls Cup.

The full interview with Neil Cox, ahead of Saturday’s trip to Bury, will appear on iFollow shortly.
