Dons dealt Fuller blow

Captain ruled out with pectoral muscle injury

Neal Ardley has revealed the extent of skipper Barry Fuller's injury, picked up in Saturday's draw with Charlton Athletic.

"It's quite a bad one. He's ruptured in and around his pectoral muscle, so Barry will be a minimum, I would have thought, of about six weeks," said Neal in an interview to Dons Player.

"It's obviously a big blow as he's very influential, as was missing Tom Elliott through suspension tonight. We'll get Tom back for Saturday and hopefully Darius Charles in and around it too."

Neal was pleased with the return of centre-back Will Nightingale, who came through 75 minutes unscathed in the Premier League Cup defeat at Fulham on Monday night.

"Will Nightingale is now back and that brings him into the picture - which is great. Next week, hopefully, we can get Jon Meades, Dean Parrett and Chris Whelpdale back in training and that will be a big boost to us all," he added.
