Striker Bisson ready for Brighton challenge

AFC Wimbledon Ladies are preparing to take on Brighton in the third round proper of the SSE Women’s Cup this Sunday at Sutton United FC, kick-off 2pm.

Last month, the Ladies travelled to Plymouth Argyle Ladies in the second round proper, which ended in a 3-0 win for the Dons and set up this exciting tie.

“To play Brighton, a Super League Team in the third round of the FA Cup, will be a huge test for us,” said striker Caroline Bisson (pic). “As a player you want to be part of the big occasions.”

“For me, personally, having missed the majority of the season so far due to injury, I’m really looking forward to being involved again. I believe we have every chance of getting the result we want. Also being the underdogs will suit us, we're up for the challenge. We'll focus on playing our game and make sure Brighton know they have been in a game,” added Bisson.

The Don's Ladies progressed to this stage of the Women’s FA Cup after travelling to Bexhill United Ladies in the third qualifying round and recording an impressive 6-0 victory. The fourth qualifying round resulted in a 4-2 home win against Denham United Ladies.

AFC Wimbledon were on the road again for the first round proper, this time at Norwich City Ladies where the Dons came away 4-1 winners. Just after the New Year, the Ladies travelled to Plymouth and were again in fine form as they knocked out their hosts.

Entry for this Sunday’s game at Gander Green Lane is free to all spectators, with Dons fans urged to get along and help create a cracking cup tie atmosphere as the Ladies look to march on.
