Speaking during a post-match interview with WDON’s Rob Cornell, our experienced defender said: “It was always going to be a tough afternoon. Being away from home in the FA Cup with a good atmosphere and on a 3G pitch, we had all those factors to deal with and we did. The least we had hoped for was to get them back to our place. We wanted to go and win it on the day, but it was not to be. We stuck with it, grinded it out, and we have another chance. We are looking forward to seeing what happens in the draw on Monday night and then get ready for the replay.

“There was a real buzz about the place, you could feel it when you got here. That’s what the FA Cup us all about; everyone is turning up looking for an upset or an unlikely hero. We managed to deal with that. The most important thing is that we are still in the hat.

“They are used to playing on a 3G pitch. We are under no illusions about the replay because they will be desperate to get through too, but hopefully being back at home tips the balance in our favour. We have to make sure we take full advantage of that on the night.”
