Season ticket sales close to 3,000 mark

High demand to watch the Dons

20 July 2017

Anticipation is growing among supporters for AFC Wimbledon's second campaign in League One with almost 3,000 season tickets sold.

With high demand once again to watch the Dons, Paul Moran, Amanda Bynon and Lauren Westal from the club office and volunteer Mike Berry have been working hard to process applications during the summer and from today they will start contacting supporters.

Mike, who audits season ticket payments, said: "Season ticket sales are broadly in line with this time last year. There is a sense from supporters of looking forward to next season and we've also had new applications - I think because we are seen as more of an established League One club now. Last year we had a significant increase in season ticket sales as a result of making more seats available. These have largely been taken up in the summer as we have had a 98 per cent renewal rate on seats. We now have the task of looking at all the move requests from existing season ticket holders, plus the new applications, to try to fit them into the stands."

The club are very grateful for the patience shown by supporters during the process of allocating season tickets and Mike explained the timescales for contacting fans in the near future.

"As from today, we are going to start allocating seats," added Mike. "Fans will either be contacted by phone or by e-mail and we will be letting them know if they have been successful or not. That applies to new applicants as well and we will process refunds for those fans who have not been successful.

"Hopefully, by the end of next week everybody will have been advised about where they stand and then the following week (starting 1 August) we will be sending out the season ticket booklets. It's been a busy time for us processing all the season tickets. We've had plenty of new applicants and this could also be due to us moving to a new stadium."

Due to seat places for season tickets being over-subscribed, we are not taking any more applications with immediate effect. However, supporters can still apply for season tickets in the terraces (Chemflow and RyGas Stand). Visit our season tickets section on the official website for more information on how to apply.
