Watford visit Dons for Football Manager Cup clash

Supporters can buy tickets in advance for match and for Ale Festival

11 July 2017

Excitement is building ahead of the new season as this Saturday Premier League Watford visit The Cherry Red Records Stadium for the Football Manager Cup.

Both sets of suppporters can book tickets in advance from our online ticket shop, as Neal Ardley prepares for Wimbledon's second season in League One. Watford meanwhile are preparing for another season of top-flight football, now under the leadership of former Hull City boss Marco Silva.

It's shaping up to be a great day down at the Dons, as we host our second Ale & Cider Festival and you can also buy in advance for this great event.

Wimbledon fans will be keen to catch an initial glimpse of Neal's five new signings so far this summer.

Goalkeeper George Long is on a season-loan from Sheffield United, centre-back Deji Oshilaja and left-back Callum Kennedy have returned to the club as has striker Kwesi Appiah - who started training with the Dons again yesterday. Striker Cody McDonald switched from League One rivals Gillingham.

Watford have also been busy in the market during the break. Former Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley made a permanent switch from Everton and more recently talented England under-21 Will Hughes joined from Derby County.

Keeper Daniel Bachmann has arrived from Stoke City, while right-back Kiko Femenia has moved from Spanish club Alaves.

Last Saturday, a Watford XI drew 1-1 at National League side Woking, where former Dons centre-back and captain Jason Goodliffe was recently appointed assistant manager.

The Football Manager Cup, shared between the two clubs after an entertaining 2-2 draw back in 2015, is pictured next to the Sky Bet League Two Play-off trophy in the Dons cabinet.

Join us this Saturday for two great events down at AFC Wimbledon!
