The fundraising initiative run by supporters to provide Neal Ardley with a bigger playing budget has made an encouraging start after its relaunch.
Organisers of the We Are Wimbledon Fund want to maintain the momentum after a good response from fans both at home and abroad.
Damian Woodward said: "Please keep your pledges coming for this season's We Are Wimbledon Fund kick-off campaign! Thank-you to all the people who have made donations and also to fans who have come up with great offers to raise funds. These include a band offering to put on a gig and an author generously pledging 10 per cent of his royalties for a future book. This is also a great time to remind our overseas fans how they can contribute. We have a wonderful worldwide supporter base and we've had lots of interest from them about donating. Please contact us via e-mail and we will sort that out for you! If you haven't seen Neal and Erik's interviews about how important the WAWF fund is to the progress of the club, please take a look."
If you are a fan from abroad who wishes to make a contribution or if you have ideas about raising funds, e-mail info@wearewimbledonfund.com .
If you missed interviews with Neal and Erik, you can watch them below.
The main way for fans to contribute is via a direct debit form from the We Are Wimbledon Fund website. There is an option for supporters to make one-off payments via this form. In the section that says 'Payment Schedule, where it asks for the 'End' date, simply select 'Take certain number of debits' and a new box will open to choose option 1.
Since relaunching the campaign, we've had enquiries from existing WAWF contributors who wish to increase their donations. If you wish to do so, please e-mail info@wearewimbledonfund.com with your details, stating your current donation amount and new amount.
We know that a large number of supporters have shown interest by clicking on the direct debit form. If you have any questions about completing the form, please e-mail the above address.
