We will once again be spreading the word about our great club at the Wimbledon Village Fair on Saturday June 17 – and your support will be very much appreciated.
Every year since reformation in 2002, we've had a stall at the popular summer festival, which sees thousands of people flock to Wimbledon Common.
AFC Wimbledon Commercial Director Ivor Heller said: "It is really pleasing that every year our fans turn up wearing their colours with pride. This year more than any year we want to show the Wimbledon Community that we are a club and we support them as much as they support us. With our new stadium looming in the not too distant future, it would be great to see as many people in colours as possible. Every year since we started we have attended the WVF. The reaction from the general public is always fantastic and encouraging."
Our friendly AFC Wimbledon Foundation staff will once again be running competitions at the event (the picture above shows Haydon the Womble joining in the fun last year). Competitions will include "Beat the Keeper" and the inflatable shoot-out with prizes up for grabs for the winners.
There will also be an opportunity to find out from the Foundation team about summer holiday courses coming up in July, offering a great way for children to stay active during time off from school.
Of course, Wimbledon Common was a venue critical to the start of AFC Wimbledon 15 years ago as club trials were held there shortly after our reformation.
The merchandising team will also be at our club stall on Saturday with Wimbledon kit and memorabilia on sale at the event.
The Wimbledon Village Fair offers a great day of free entertainment with shopping areas, children's zones and live performances. Visit the website for more information about the event, which runs from 10.30 am until 5.00 pm.
