Golden push to boost funds

11 May 2017

Almost 200,000 raised for the club in 15 years

Funds raised from Golden Goal ticket sales surpassed the £10,000 mark for 2016/17 after the final game against Oldham with Mick Field winning the £100 first prize.

Mick was the lucky recipient of the winning ticket after putting in a request for the 0-0 score-line.

A total of £10,140 was raised during 2016/17 for the Dons Trust Stadium Fund and it was the 15th successive year that the amount raised from the competition had exceeded £10,000.

It brings the overall amount raised since 2002 to £191,450 and Golden Goal organiser Roger Dennis expects to pass the £200,000 mark sometime next season.

Roger would like to thank his wonderful team of volunteer golden goal sellers, as well as all those who purchased tickets in the season for another very successful year.
