More England glory for Joe

10 May 2017

Joe Bursik today claimed his second successive clean sheet to help England into the last-eight of the UEFA Under-17 European Championships.

Our home-grown goalkeeper was unbeaten once again as the Three Lions marched to a 3-0 victory against the Netherlands.

With England maintaining a 100 per cent record, thanks to a double from Jadon Sancho and a Callum Hudson-Odoi strike, it sets up a quarter-final tie against Ireland.

England's task today was made easier when the Netherlands had a man sent off at the start of the second half, just minutes before Sancho made it 2-0.

Joe has been beaten just once in three group games so far during the tournament in Croatia.

England: 1 Josef Bursik (AFC Wimbledon), 2 Timothy Eyoma (Tottenham Hotspur), 3 Lewis Gibson (Newcastle United), 4 George McEachran (Chelsea), 5 Marc Guehi (capt; Chelsea), 6 Jonathan Panzo (Chelsea), 7 Phil Foden (Manchester City), 8 Tashan Oakley-Boothe (Tottenham Hotspur), 9 Rhian Brewster (Liverpool), 10 Callum Hudson-Odoi (Chelsea), 11 Jadon Sancho (Manchester City).

Substitutes: 16 Daniel Loader (Reading) for Brewster 56, 18 Emile Smith-Rowe (Arsenal) for Sancho 62, 17 Aidan Barlow (Manchester United) for Foden 67.
