Wimbledon keeper selected as number one for national U-17s

Dons goalkeeper Joe Bursik celebrated an opening day tournament victory at the European Under-17 Championships as England battled back to beat Norway.

Joe, who joined AFC Wimbledon at the age of nine after coming through our academy, was beaten early on, but there was little he could do to stop the opener as a cross from Johan Hove was swept past him by Marc Guehi for an own goal.

Following that setback in Croatia, Joe dealt comfortably with crosses, showing the handling ability that has been such a feature of his rise through the ranks.
