New website launch

23 May 2017

We are pleased to announce that a new official club website has today been launched.

The new platform includes features from the old site, along with new sections in the website navigation, but it is designed to be more accessible and informative for supporters. Replacing the old Dons Player platform, it will offer a live streaming service for overseas Wimbledon supporters during 2017/18.

iFollow will, for the first time in English football, enable fans based outside the UK and Ireland to watch their team during the regular EFL season. With an estimated 270,000 EFL fans based outside the UK, iFollow will allow clubs to enable their supporters to follow the action wherever they are in the world.

Kicking off at the start of the 2017/18 EFL season, overseas subscribers will pay the equivalent of £110 per season for the service, which will provide coverage of up to 46 live games per club. More than 1,500 matches will be available in HD quality, with iFollow showing every EFL league match live, unless that match has been selected by the EFL's overseas broadcast partners.

This offers a potentially valuable revenue source for AFC Wimbledon with the club benefiting from retaining the majority of the subscription fee.

The EFL has recently contacted existing Dons Player subscribers informing them about the change over to iFollow and how they can sign-up again. New subscribers should simply select the 'iFollow' tab at the top of the official website homepage and choose one of the options.

Fans based in the UK and Ireland will still also have access to live audio commentary, highlights packages, and exclusive content as part of the new offering, rebranded to replace the EFL's existing PlayerHD platform. With almost 1,000 subscribers to Dons Player last season, we are very grateful to fans both at home and abroad for supporting a subscription service that has brought in revenue for the club. We will continue to provide plenty of exclusive interviews and behind-the-scenes access for supporters as part of the new platform.

We will welcome any feedback about the new website and subscription service following today's launch. Please e-mail chris.slavin@afcwimbledon.ltd.uk  .
