Thank-you to volunteers

Great turn-out once again for work weekend

29 May 2017

A total of 70 volunteers helped spruce up the stadium at the first close season work weekend and the club thanks all those dedicated supporters who attended.

Since 2004 when a Stadium Management Group was set-up to maintain facilities, volunteers have completed a variety of jobs inside and outside the ground with the aim of getting it ready for pre-season.

This Bank Holiday weekend was no different with fans of all ages joining forces in a great team effort.

Margaret Adam, who has helped organise the work weekends since they started, said: “The volunteers come here to help out for the love of the club. They choose what they want to do from the work schedule and just go off and do it. We all work together as a team, which is very important. We get plenty of familiar faces coming along, but also new recruits and I take their contact details every time so that we can invite them to the next work weekend.”

The second work weekend of the summer will be held on 8/9 July.

If you are able to help, whether for a few hours or for a full day, please e-mail info@afcwimbledon.co.uk  or ring the office on 020 8547 3528.
