Alan Reeves today confirmed that Jon Meades will step-up his match fitness with a run-out for the development squad against Milton Keynes tomorrow night.

Meades (pictured) is on the way back after recovering from knee surgery and he will bring experience to a young Dons squad for the Central League South East match (7.00 pm kick-off at Brackley Town).

“Jon has been training for the past three weeks and he looks strong,” said Alan. “He’s been training with me on Saturday mornings and when the first-team haven’t been in. There have been no complaints from Jon about any niggles or anything like that, which is good. This will be his first match and hopefully he will come through an hour and be included for next week’s game against Luton (Checkatrade Trophy match).”

Anthony Hartigan will also keep his match fitness ticking over by playing tomorrow night and Alan Reeves wants more of his squad to follow the midfielder into Neal Ardley’s first-team plans this season.

“Anthony has been involved in every first-team squad this season after having such a good pre-season,” added Alan. “He is still only 17 years of age. The difficult part of this job is keeping the boys motivated when they have had a go in the first-team, but then come back down. Obviously, they want to be involved in the first-team after having a taste of it.

“They are all level-headed and they just get on with it. If you are 17, 18, or 19 you just want to play football. We will go out there tomorrow night with the intention of trying to get a win. The boys know what the club expects from them and more often than not, they give their all. I will expect them to give everything tomorrow night.”

Entry prices (cash only) for tomorrow’s game are as follows: Adults £6, Concessions £3, U-18s £1, U-12s free.
