Update on Dean Parrett

Midfielder facing injury lay-off

12 October 2017

Neil Cox today confirmed that Dean Parrett is facing a spell on the sidelines after a scan revealed that he will require an operation.

Dean (pictured) came off injured during the defeat at Oxford with a groin injury and there will be no quick return for the midfielder.

"It is bad news as Dean is going to need an operation and he could be out for between 10-12 weeks," Neil said. "Dean had just started to have a run of games and a run of form, so it is a big miss for us."

However, Neil did provide a positive bulletin on Jon Meades and Kwesi Appiah with both players making good progress.

"Kwesi has started light jogging with Jason Moriarty, which is good news," said Neil. "His character around the place has been excellent. Jon has been back in training, which is really good, but I'm not too sure how long it is going to be until he is back. He needs a mini pre-season to get the fitness required."

All at AFC Wimbledon wish Dean all the best in his recuperation.
