Neal Ardley today confirmed that Kwesi Appiah is back in full training after making a good recovery from the hamstring injury that has kept him out since December.
Speaking during his Thursday update for iFollow, Neal said: "All the tests have come back great and Kwesi has done his handover stuff with Jason (Moriarty) and 'Dougy' (Stuart Douglas). He has returned to training this week and trained with the first-team today. He's looked nice and sharp and it's good for him to be back, he is enjoying it. Obviously, he has done a lot of long, stamina stuff, so he is getting the short, sharp stuff in now. We will see, watch this space and all that, but it's early days. It's his first week back in training after a hell of a long time out. It's great to have players like that back out on the training field."
Neal reported that there was an upbeat mood among the squad after impressive recent results, but he said that there are injury doubts heading into Saturday's match against Oldham.
"The atmosphere is great," said Neal. "The players that trained on Tuesday and today have been full of life and looked really fit and sharp, but we have some doubts going into the game. The players we've got available for sure look really good.
"We have got some doubts, I will not go into detail about who is a doubt and who isn't. From people who have not trained for a couple of days and struggled a bit today, to people who are off ill, there are doubts for us. We will not really know what for sure we've got until tomorrow. Then we will piece it all together tomorrow morning, once we know who is 100 per cent and who isn't."
