Neal Ardley has thanked AFC Wimbledon's dedicated team of volunteers for all their hard work throughout the season.

The trip to Walsall tomorrow is the annual Volunteers' Away Day, generously sponsored by Cherry Red Records, when fans who give up their time for nothing are treated to pre-match hospitality, along with free travel and match tickets.

Speaking ahead of the game, Neal said he would love to mark the occasion with a big performance on the pitch.

"I can remember back to some of the games when I've gone in and said hello to the volunteers beforehand and we've had different types of performances along the way," said Neal. "The squad look like they are in a good place at the moment mentally and hopefully we will get a result.

"It is great what these people have done for the club and they deserve this day, it's a great gesture that they get it. I hope they have a wonderful day and we will do our best to make sure that they do because they deserve it. I personally thank them for everything they've done over the course of the season.

"You see the people who have got their own little jobs on a regular basis that they do for the club. It saves the club a fortune. They do it with probably more pride that someone you would bring in from outside, so it is win-win in all cases. It is that part of this club that is so wonderful."
