All season ticket holders should have by now received their renewal forms by post.
Along with their renewal forms was a letter outlining some of the future changes to season tickets that the club and DTB were looking to implement, in preparation of the move into the new stadium.
We've now had some feedback on the proposed changes and as a result we've decided to put the proposed 80 per cent attendance requirement on hold for the time being and will open further consultation on the scheme.
We very much appreciate the fact that many fans have purchased season tickets throughout the years to support the club, knowing they will not make many games. However, as a result, there are often substantial numbers of empty seats, even in a sold out stadium. We will consult to try to identify ways that these seats can be used in the absence of season ticket holders. This will form part of a wider consultation on the proposed changes and more importantly on the detail, which will be presented at a later date in the context of the full ticketing structure, including matchday ticket sales, which is still in development.
The other changes described in the letter will remain. These include:
• The season ticket cap in the new stadium
• The end of 5 year season tickets (season 2018-19 will be the last opportunity to buy one, though ST holders will continue to be able to top up for an indefinite period).
• We will continue to develop the priority for season tickets in the new stadium, which will look at giving priority to long term season ticket holders (but ensuring they will be able to attend with their family members that may not have the same priority) and also incorporating priority for Dons Trust members and PLC shareholders.
We remain committed to ensuring that there will be tickets available for non season ticket holders on matchdays and therefore we will cap season tickets at the Cherry Red Records Stadium in 2018/19 at 3250.
